The Holistic Health & Nutrition Clinic specializes in helping the growing population of individuals who struggle with complex chronic illness and/or unexplained symptoms that diminish quality of life. Dr Kate's main area of expertise is in complex immune system disorders like Mould Illness/CIRS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Autoimmunity.
​Kate follows the principles of functional medicine, which is a highly customized holistic health perspective that takes an individual's unique specifications into account. Functional medicine/nutrition follows a systems approach that takes into consideration how interrelated every part of the body is, looking at the big picture of health by restoring optimal physiological functioning. ​While standard healthcare will try to suppress symptoms with medication, functional healthcare instead sees them as clues for understanding the underlying issues within the body.
Kate also subscribes to the "three roots many branches" concept which suggests that a small number of foundational factors (the roots) can significantly impact a wide range of health issues (the branches). Addressing these roots (genes, inflammation, digestion) can positively influence the many branches.

Programs are all inclusive options that allow you to interact with Dr Kate on a consistent basis, thereby improving your chance of success with recovery. A holistic approach is taken so that all pillars of health are addressed, including diet & lifestyle, gut health, nervous system support and detoxification. Prices start at AUD$1990 (plus GST for Australian residents), and instalment plans are available. Individual consults are an option for those unable to commit to a program.

Basic Program Structure
For those with autoimmune/inflammatory conditions or those without a diagnosis, the basic program structure is centred around the five C's - Create, Care, Calm, Clear and Cultivate (see below). If you are coming to see Dr Kate with an existing CIRS/Mould Illness diagnosis or you have a gut feeling that mould/mycotoxins are causing your symptoms, then the program structure will be slightly different and an outline of Dr Kate's five R's approach can be found on the CIRS/Mould Illness page.
